Overview
Nursery Net is a client-server software system. The client applications run on the user’s Windows PC and create an encrypted Virtual Private Network connection to the Nursery-Net servers where their data is stored. The software is licensed to entire nursery settings rather than per-client-machine and multiple users can run it at the same time on different machines.
Minimum Hardware Requirements
- Windows-based PC
- 1GHz processor
- 256MB RAM
- 500MB free hard disk space
- 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution, 16-bit colour mode
These requirements are what we regard as the absolute minimum. As with all software, Nursery-Net is faster and more responsive to use on a more powerful machine.
Software Requirements
- Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
- Internet Explorer 6 (or newer) must be installed, even if not used as the primary browser
- Admin privileges are required for initial installation and performing updates; Limited User accounts can use the software once installed
- .Net Framework 3.5 is required – we provide a link to download this as part of your installation
Network Requirements
- Broadband internet connection – residential or business ADSL or Cable connections are normally suitable
- (3G Mobile Broadband service might be suitable, depending on signal strength and connection speed)
- Your ISP and local network equipment (router, etc.) must support PPTP or L2TP Virtual Private Network connections.
